Liberal Democrat economic recovery plan
January 25th, 2009 by Philip VialIt’s probably time to let you know a bit about Liberal Democrat national policies. Families are facing a difficult winter. Rising mortgage bills, the fear of unemployment and high heating costs mean that the shockwaves of the financial crisis are being felt in households across Britain, as well as in Shipston. When the banks were in trouble, they got rescued. Millions of families who are about to find themselves in trouble must be helped too. The Liberal Democrat economic recovery plan can be read here.

County Council election year
January 18th, 2009 by Philip VialThis year is Shipston’s third chance to go to the polls in three years! Following the District Council elections after the past two years, it’s the turn of the County Council and the European Elections on June 4th.
Four years ago the Liberal Democrats came second, but only a few votes separated the Conservatives and our candidate at the time, the now newly elected District Councillor Richard Cheney. A third candidate stood, but as you can see from my new bar chart -it really will be a straight choice between the Liberal Democrats and the Conservatives this time.

Happy New Year!
